The purpose, for which the Washington Warriors is formed is to introduce and promote the development of the sport of cricket within the local communities and the Washington Metropolitan area through education, organization and competition. In doing so, we wish to encourage fair play, team work, and camaraderie among our members.

Warriors will introduce Cricket to 195 Fairfax county schools

Email us at 2WashingtonWarriors@gmail.com and we will respond promptly please mention the level you have played previously, strengths and your skill level. - Country,state,county level, top order bat, pace bowler, spin, etc. Requirement is that you have to be physically present in USA. We don't sponsor players outside USA.
Washington Warriors 2013 & 2012 Awards after the season
We are based in Fairfax county and hold practices in the following locations.
Every Monday, 5:30 - 8:30 pm at Lake Fairfax Park, Reston.
Saturday practice session's, 8:30 - 12:30 pm.
Location - Aldrin Elementary School, 11375 center harbor rd, Reston, VA 20194-2061.

The Washington Warriors arrived at the Herndon Middle School to find a loudly cheering group of middle schoolers. It was quite clear that they were all excited to learn about the sport. The gymnasium presented some challenges to setting up the projector and the clip we planned to show. But, we figured out a way. About 60 or so middle schoolers filtered in and sat on the bleachers. You could tell, they were very excited. Suresh kicked off the session introducing ourselves and provided a brief history of the sport in United States. Srini then explained some of the basics- batting, bowling etc and compared and contrasted cricket with baseball. Dwayne talked briefly about his experiences and Y rounded the session by showing the clip we had prepared.
We proceeded to enact a few plays to show how the game is played. When it was finally the turn of the students to jump in, they did so in a very excited fashion. Soon they were bowling, batting and running in the gym.
It was a great experience for us and we were completely bowled by their interest. We took some time to help the PE instructors understand the game, answered questions, and gave a cricket kit each to Herndon Middle School and Langston Hughes Middle Schools.
The County PE Coordinator for schools, PE instructors from Herndon Middle school and Langston Hughes Middle school was present and now are interested in having the Warriors do similar demos to a much larger audience.
Feels good to be one of the organizations that is helping cricket in America at the grass root level.

Take exit 71, ballston exit.
Turn left onto glebe rd at second traffic light.
Turn right onto Washington blvd at second traffic light.
Turn left at first traffic light. You should see a washington-lee highschool ground on your right once you turn left at this light.
You will drive infront of the school entrance. turn right onto parking garage.
We meet inside the hockey cage.
